Honourable Angelo Satanassi

The Institute for Central Eastern and Balkan Europe was aggrieved to learn of the death of Honourable Angelo Satanassi, Chairman of the Garzanti Foundation, and wishes to express its deepest condolences to his family.

It was thanks to Hon. Satanassi’s personal commitment that a close relationship evolved between the Institute and the Foundation over the last several years. The Foundation often lent financial support to international events promoted by the Institute. A man of broad horizons, always abreast of the times, Hon. Satanassi firmly supported initiatives for young people and the university, in the belief that the younger generation, a well-established university and scientific research were the future cornerstones of Forli and surroundings. He was profoundly convinced that openness to and comparison with other cultures would always lead to a positive result, and he particularly appreciated the international character of the Forli Branch of the University of Bologna, which offers its students the possibility to study abroad and to host foreign students in Forli as part of the activities promoted by the Institute.

The Institute would like to express its deep gratitude to Hon. Angelo Satanassi, an extraordinary and exceptional person.
