PhD in Diversity Management and Governance
PhD candidates go on mobility
In March 2011 the course in “Diversity Management and Governance” will enter its second academic year. The PhD candidates enrolled in the program will leave their home universities and move to one of the partner universities to spend a mobility period there, attending lectures and seminars.
As far as the students enrolled at the University of Bologna are concerned, five of them – Ms Vesna Atanasova, Mr Fabio De Menna, Ms Katrin Elliott, Mr Srdjan Jovanovic, and Ms Roberta Rendida – will spend their mobility year at the University of Graz (Austria). Three other candidates from the University of Bologna – Ms Sabrina Aguiari, Ms Irene Dioli and Mr Markko Kallonen – will be hosted by the University of Primorska (Slovenia), which will host two students enrolled at the University of Graz as well – Mr Drino Galicic and Mr Mesfin Ayele.
Among the other students enrolled at the University of Graz, Ms Gresa Caka will spend her mobility at the New Bulgarian University (Bulgaria), whereas Ms Romanita Iordache will be hosted by the University of Bologna (Italy).
In October 2010 a second cycle of the PhD program was launched. After receiving 36 applications from several countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina Ethiopia, Germany, Ghana, India, Italy, Jordan, Kosovo, Macedonia, Palestine, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Turkey, Uganda, USA), the members of the Academic Coordination Board gathered to evaluate the proposed research projects and selected the eligible candidates for the program. There are six PhD candidates now enrolled in the University of Graz’s program from Romania, India, Italy and Germany. Two PhD candidates coming from Italy are now enrolled in the New Bulgarian University’s program, and other two candidates from Slovenia are enrolled in the University of Primorska.
These are very good indicators that the PhD program in “Diversity Management and Governance” will become another milestone in international cooperation among universities establishing joint programmes, leading to joint degrees.
